Now, THIS is what I needed last year when I was moving my little sister into her dorm. Sometimes it's just hard to remember everything you're going to need while you're away until an instance comes up when you need it and don't have it. I think one thing I would suggest is a lockable drawer (or file cabinet) or one of those computer locks, especially if you're sharing a room. It just takes some of the anxiety away of leaving your valuables lying around when you don't personally know the people your roommate may invite over while you're out.
